Day 19: Upsala - Clinton Kinsmen

Distance: 223km

You'd never know it was May 1st this morning when we headed out of the Northwestern Campground in Dryden. Here we are looking unimpressed with our balaclavas and mitts.

It was a lot of distance today, but for the first time a week there were no headwinds! Hallelujah. It made today a lot more enjoyable and the miles went by quickly.

The shoulders on the roads were pretty minimal after Dryden. We still felt really safe though since the drivers always gave us as much room as they could. We really appreciated it!

We've also been singing a lot lately. It makes the time go by quickly while biking, cooking, blogging... just about anything really. This track has been our favourite over the past couple days. Fitting for the scenery around here.

Campgrounds were scarce in Upsala, but just a bit further down the road we found a room at the Black Spruce motel. The owners even gave us four slices of pizza when we checked in. That says a lot about a person. We only have 138km of biking until Thunder Bay tomorrow. Rumour has it that dad will even be there to meet us.
