Day 25: Sudbury - Lavis Contracting Co. Limited

Here we are heading out of the Lakeside Park in Thessalon this morning.

Originally we were supposed to go to Espanola tonight, but the weather forecast for the next few days didn't look promising  so we decided to go all the way to Sudbury! There was a 20km/hr headwind for most of the day, seems to be a repeating theme on this trip. It was a long day on the bike, but the sun was out and the terrain was a bit less aggressive today.

We thought we would be able to scamper around Sudbury via the bypass that runs just south of the city. It was a great plan until we reached this sign about 15km out.

That kind of put a hole in our bucket. We didn't want to have a second encounter with the cops, so we had to send an SOS to mom to shuttle us around the city in the RV. The signs were there for good reason though, lots of fast traffic with little to no shoulders. Campgrounds were in low supply so we're spending the night at the Chateau Guay Motel on the east side of Sudbury.
