Day 29: Ottawa - Excalibur Insurance Group

Heading out of the Pine Ridge campground in Pembroke!

The sun was out, and it ended up being a really hot day. Had to wipe a layer of dust off of my summer gloves and t-shirts. About time! Very scenic route up to Ottawa, lots of rivers and trees. The hills continued. 18% Grade? Yeehaw.

Due to the nice temperatures, the roads around Ottawa were just crawling with cyclists. We've gotten so accumstomed to being the only cyclists on the road that the presence of other bikers made us feel very uncomfortable. Especially the ones that were 3x our age that absolutely dusted us. We had to get off of the Trans Can before entering Ottawa which meant it took a bit of zig-zagging to get to the city. On a quiet backroad we came across an arena with a big senator on it. Will went in looking for Erik Karlsson's autograph. He came out empty handed. Turns out the cars in the parking lot were only there for the local 8 year olds' practice. Arena had no association with the Senators. Disappointing.

We were supposed to spend the night in Ottawa, but it was such a nice day that we kept on going! We actually kept going quite a piece into Quebec. We rode until dark and then launched the RV in Montebello, Quebec. No internet was to be found, but the area was very welcoming to cyclists.
